The most under used item of sewing
equipment is the sewing machine – sad but true!!
There are comprehensive mechanical machines and the most
fabulous, wonderful computerised machines just lurking in
cupboards... but most disconcerting of all are those machines
that are ‘out’ and in constant use but regularly
utilised for only one or two tasks such as embroidery or
patchwork and even the mending! So much that these
machines have to offer and will accomplish is neglected and it
is not because people are lazy. Sometimes it is actually
a personal fear of pushing out the boundaries and trying
something ‘new’. Another fear is that trying
new techniques without proficient skills could actually damage
that precious and expensive machine in some way.
My driving factor for many years has been
to get people to use their machines to do ANYTHING!
I really do not mind what your particular
interest or sewing passion is, I just want to encourage you to
enjoy all the machine has to offer to please YOU and your
creativity and I enjoy showing you the way to do this.
Traditional techniques translate well to
the modern machine – different but my, how good they look
and what fun they are to do!
